Alun Armstrong has a defiant message for the Norwich boo boys aiming to make his life hell tomorrow: Bring it on.

City's on-loan Ipswich striker faces a torrid reception at Carrow Road against the league leaders.

But Armstrong said: "I love all the boos. I don't mind getting a little bit of stick because it will just make me try even harder to help us get a decent result.

"It will be good to go back to East Anglia and even better if we can win there.

"Norwich are absolutely flying and even beat Ipswich a few weeks ago. But I spoke to a few of the lads who said they weren't as good as people think they are.

"At the moment the luck is going with Norwich and they are playing above themselves.

"But it's sometimes best to be the underdog. They could be a bit complacent and if we can raise our game maybe we can pull off a shock."

Armstrong will play the third game of his month's loan spell but it has taken him time to adapt after a three-week absence with a thigh injury just before the move.

He added: "There was no time to find my feet when I came in and I was straight into action. But I've got two weeks under my belt to improve on fitness and sharpness and hopefully I can start getting a few goals.

"In our position it's easy just to write it off. But you've got a winner as a manager in Bryan Robson and he just breathes success.

"Everyone wants to do well for him so hopefully we can keep fighting to the death."

Robson, who could include Nicky Summerbee and Danny Cadamar-teri, believes his relegation battlers have the quality to rip up the form book.

He said: "We've nothing to lose because everyone expects a Norwich victory. But from where I come from, I never go into a football match and just think the other team are going to win.

"If the lads work hard enough, stay disciplined and show more quality than the last couple of weeks then it is possible to get a good result.

"I don't think there's a big gap between any teams in this division from what I've seen so far. Norwich are the best team but on the day anyone can beat anyone else."
