Stanley Road made it semi-final number three when they won the outstanding West Riding Sunday County Cup quarter-final against holders Albion Sports 4-1.

The Division One side got off to the ideal start when from a corner the ball fell nicely to defender Charlie Bradshaw to slot home at the far post.

Albion struggled to get into the game with high winds and a poor playing surface not helping their cause.

But just as they started to win more of the 50-50 balls in midfield, Stanley Road scored a second.

A quick break ended with Gary Shaw, who was in Albion's cup-winning team last season, slotting home on the half-hour.

With the wind behind them Albion pulled a goal back almost immediately after the second-half resumption, Taj Singh scoring with a shot off the post.

The next goal was always going to decide the game. Again Shaw was involved, holding the ball up for Scott Ryan to put in the perfect cross for Ian Blackstone to head home.

A second goal for Shaw made sure of the victory and sets up a semi-final tie against Halton Moor.

Fairweather Green are back on top of the Bradford Sunday Alliance Premier Division after a 4-3 win at Bolton Woods.

Andy Patterson missed an early penalty then made amends by putting Woods into a 2-1 lead.

Fairweather moved up a gear to go 4-2 up. Des Rouse took over the penalty role and pulled a goal back but despite a chance in the last minute Fairweather took the three points.

The game between old rivals East Bowling Unity and Oakenshaw finished all square at 2-2.

Oakenshaw took the lead through Dean Worrell before two goals from Micky Nunn saw Unity edge in front.

Oakenshaw missed a chance to equalise from the spot before Craig Lawford converted a late penalty to earn a share the spoils.

Besides celebrating their third semi-final appearance there was good news for Stanley Road in the First Division title race with the two leading clubs Wibsey WMC and West Bowling suffering defeats.

Queensbury Reserves, who were thankful to a great performance from keeper Damien Clancy, upset the apple cart with a 3-2 win at Wibsey.

Queensbury's other hero was centre half Kevin Hume whose two goals included a free-kick converted from 30 yards.

After looking like they were getting on top in the first half, West Bowling let it slip in the second period against Wyke Wanderers. Damien Dunne put Wyke into a lead after five minutes but Chris Wood equalised just before the interval.

Craig Sheridan with two goals, one a penalty, and Andy Beckwith scored for Wyke with Wood's second proving mere consolation for Bowling.

Carlo Moorhouse kept his record of scoring in every game he has played by netting a hat-trick in Westwood's 3-1 win against Chellow.

Bradford Moor's Division One survival isn't assured after they slipped to their 11th defeat when losing 1-0 to Waggoners.

Waggoners victory mean there is just one point now separating the bottom four teams.

With QC's having no game, Idle went top of Division 1A on goal difference after proving much too strong for Undercliffe CC.

Midfielder Chris Wilkin was Idle's outstanding player in the 5-0 romp. Ray Garlan, who was denied a double hat-trick by a missed penalty, hit all five for Victoria Rangers in their win at Quarry.

Baildon Trinity slipped to their third defeat in 16 after a 2-1 setback against Nags, Dave Cunningham and Aaron Williams on target for the visitors.

With Buttershaw White Star's game against Skylark now scheduled for Thursday at 7.30pm at Fields, Ring O'Bells went eight points clear in Division 1B with a 2-1 win over Albion Sports Reserves.

Anthony Auty struck twice in the first 15 minutes for Bells while there was another goal from Albion's 16-year-old starlet Masango Agapit.

White Eagles, who are still in the frame with Buttershaw and Ring O'Bells for a promotion spot, saw an outstanding performance from Alex Nesovic in their win at Dudley Hill Rangers Reserves. Nesovic and teenagers Andy Gallagher and Vinnie Brogden were on target in a 3-1 success despite Dudley Hill opening the scoring.

Bradford Park Avenue Rangers remain unbeaten in Division 2A after overcoming Hare & Hounds 3-0, while Eccleshill are still well clear in second after winning a close-fought match 3-2 against Bishop Rovers.

Third-placed Silsden, with games in hand on the top two, were held to a surprise draw at the hands of bottom club Thornton Rangers. Carl Stringer and Danny Pedder were Thornton's scorers.

Brent Netzler scored a hat-trick as Saltaire beat Farmers 5-0, while New Inn Wyke moved up a place after a 6-1 win over Fountain. Paul Gott (2), Lee Boocock (2), Pat Scott and Rob Catheral were all on target for New Inn.
