Logan Swann is back on his feet again.

The Bulls' Kiwi international back rower, who has been out of action since rupturing his medial knee ligament against Penrith, began light running this week as he bids to be fit for Easter showdowns with Leeds and St Helens.

"It's good to be out there and back on track," said Swann.

"Just to be able to get out of the gym and off the cardio bikes and to get out on the field to do some running is good. After getting comfortable with the running I'll move onto sprinting and agility work and then into going 100 per cent. The time frame for that is three to four weeks."

With just 15 days remaining until the trip to Headingley to face the Rhinos, Swann faces an uphill battle.

"If everything is going well my comeback is going to fall at about the Leeds and St Helens matches so we'll soon find out if the knee is any good if I'm back playing in those games," he said.

"We've just got to see how the knee progresses. It has been a disappointing start to the season but that is football.

"You can't avoid these things if they are coming your way. You just have to deal with it and get over it by getting the injury sorted as quick as you can and getting match fit."

Swann has had previous knee

problems, with ligament strains putting him out of action for two to three weeks at a time, but his current injury is the worst he has suffered.

"This is the injury that has kept me out for the longest in my career to date. I've been pretty fortunate with injuries. At least I'm not in Toa Kohe-Love's shoes. The poor guy is out for the rest of the year. I should be back on the field in about a month."

Shontayne Hape will undergo a scan this week to check on his broken arm. If the results are positive Hape could also make it back for Easter. Coach Brian Noble confirmed the injury situation at the club was improving.

"The sick are getting healthier.

"It would be nice to be able to pick from a full squad but we won't have that luxury for a few weeks yet. Hopefully Michael Withers will be back for the next game and we'll check on the others as the weeks progress."

The Bulls senior academy side defend their 100 per cent record in the grading phase of the competition against Halifax at Odsal tonight. The game, which kicks off at 7.30pm, follows convincing wins against Hull and Widnes. The Bulls game at Oldham, which was cancelled because of an unfit pitch, has been rearranged for next Tuesday night at Odsal at 7.30pm.
