Havant may have won Rugby World magazine's website of the month award for April, but Bradford and Bingley want to ensure that is all they will win over the next few weeks.

The clubs meet tomorrow in a Powergen Intermediate Cup tie at Wagon Lane with the incentive of a Twickenham final on Saturday, April 17 for the winners.

"It was the worst possible draw for us," admits Adam King, director of rugby at the London Division One play-off hopefuls.

"You always want a home draw in the semi-finals, but we have been drawn at the Bees, who are favourites for the cup. We would have fancied our chances more against either Gloucester Old Boys or Driffield, who meet in the other semi-final.

"But having said that we consider ourselves second favourites overall, it is always difficult to gauge when north meet south. However, we've got decent players and we can score points, so we won't be going there to lie down."

Havant, who are unlikely to catch Hertford in their division, had what King called "no preparation at all" last Saturday for facing the Bees.

The Hampshire club thrashed already-relegated Harlow 107-0 to claim the biggest victory of their 53-year history. Other club records to fall were biggest individual points tally (fly half Sid Claffey with 37 points from two tries, 12 conversions and a penalty), most tries (16) and most conversions.

King will be pitting his wits against the Bees' director of rugby Geoff Cooke, who guided England to Grand Slams in 1991 and 1992. And the man who confesses to being unknown outside Hampshire's rugby community, is looking forward to it.

"Geoff is someone I've watched throughout my career - his England days, his Worcester days and his Bedford days.

"He's been a giant figure in the game and it'll be a strange contrast to have someone with as high a profile as him involved in the game at a similar level to us.

"It'll be nice to meet the guy at last. It shows the sort of sport rugby is that people like him can get involved at club level and build a successful side."

Bees coach Andy Bemrose is taking nothing for granted, and said of the visitors: "They look a very useful side. They will be a handful and we are not expecting an easy ride."

Back for the North Division One champions are hooker Leon Treco after a groin strain and prop Peter Hall after a calf twinge. They replace Peter Scott and Mark Heap, who drop to the bench.

Havant have recalled Anton Petzer at full back after a back strain, and skipper Jon Barfoot returns at flanker having been working in Peru. The visitors have named a six-man bench.
