This year's annual dinner of Grattan Warehouses Ltd 25 Society - for employees with 25 years continuous service with the company - was a special occasion. It marked the silver anniversary of the society which was formed in 1954 with 24 members - four of whom were on the original payroll of the company founded by Mr. J.E. Fattorini. There are now 233 members. Of these 38 are newcomers and received the traditional gold watch from the company chairman, Mr. J. Michael Pickard.

The English-Scottish-Australian Bank has decided to link its three Melbourne offices by television. The ledger posting department will be located in one building and customers going into either of the other two offices and wishing to see a statement or a cheque will see them shown on a small screen. The equipment can also be used by bank officials to verify signatures and examine other papers housed in the ledger posting centre.
