Mrs Joan Atha, of Greenfell Close, has supplied this portrait of Mr Howarth's class of 14 to 15-year-olds at Highfield School, one of Keighley's more recent institutions to
disappear.
The year is about 1962, as represented by some of the girls' hair styles.
Mrs Atha sits third from the left on the second row back, and recalls most of the names of her class-mates as Philip Smiley, Malcolm Rhodes, Alan Hill, John Rhodes, Jeffrey Smith, Carol Jackson, Denise Astin, Isabel Kennedy, Sandra Sharde, Marie Smith, Mollie Gill, Ann Reece, Irene Hutchinson, Patricia Bartlett, Pauline Lewis, Yvonne Pearson, Andrea Pearson, Margaret Hey, Robin Dransfield, Eric Clapperton, Alan Brooke, John Gillette, Peter Sumpter, David Gott, David Newell and Jimmy Loughenbury.
