A good all round team performance by Silsden Under-12s ensured Silsden reached the final of the Liam Daly Cup, to be held at Cougar Park on the 25th of April, in fine style.

Silsden's hard work and excellent two touch passing game proved too much for a very good Bingley side, who could not capitalise on the chances they made.

Silsden were 4-0 up by half time with well worked goals coming from Sam Jacomb, Joe Ridding, Tom Smith and Chris Williams. A late goal in the second half from Andrew Kay finished off an impressive football display.

Goal keeper John Gulson had another outstanding match performance, as did Silsden's man of the match Luke Newton.

Silsden Under-12s are currently second in the league with two games left to play, the Under-12s have also reached the quarter-final and semi-final of two further cup competitions.

The weather played a large part in Silsden Under-7s games last weekend with man of the match Alex Horsfield making a fantastic double save early in the A team's game at Otley before Callum Hey put Silsden 1-0 up. The home side equalised before goals from Euan Sessford and Hey made it 3-1 at half time. In the second half the home side were much stronger playing with the wind and rain at their backs scoring three goals to finish 4-3 winners. In the previous week's home fixture against Shipley, Callum Hey was credited with the second goal which should have gone to Euan Sessford.

The Under-7s B team showed great fighting spirit again this week with man of the match Harry McGowan running riot on the right wing. His run and cross left a tap-in for Josh Jordan for the first Silsden goal with Ben Appleyard scoring just before the break. The match was abandoned as a 2-0 win to Silsden at half time at the request of the Otley coach.

Long Lee Under-11s put in a great display to see off Bolton Woods B 7-3 in the quarter-final of the LeagueCup. After going 2-0 up Long lee were pulled back to 2-2 to go in level at half time. In the second half Long Lee stepped up a gear and raced into a 7-2 lead before Bolton woods B scored a late consolation effort to make the final score 7-3.
