Oakbank runners shone in the 65th Northern Schools Cross County Championships.
The event at Wodbank park, Stockport saw school teams from throughout the north of England taking part with over 150 runners in most events.
In the Under-12 Year 7 race Kyle Rushworth was 10th, Lloyd Evans 12th, Michael Clegg 15th, Lewis Walker 38th, Luke Taylor 55th and Aiden Turton 59th. The team finished third out of over 20 teams, acheiving the heighest place an Oakbank team has ever reached.
In the Under-13 race Joe Park was 35th, Tom Biddle 38th, Leon Smith 63rd, Liam O'Neill was injured and did not finish which mean Oakbank did not count in the team race.
In the Under-14 event Robert Shaw ran well to finish 13th in a quality field.
In the Under-16 event Nick Twigg was 24th despite giving away a year in age to many runners.
