The ancient and noble gentlemanly sport of golf could be making its way to Haworth.

But instead of the typical fairways and greens, organisers of Haworth in Bloom want to introduce a crazy golf course to Haworth Park.

The park had previously been home to a putting green until somebody tripped over one of the holes.

In its place the organisers want to make a Yorkshire-themed family attraction to add another feature to the park.

Spokesman Mike Hutchinson said: "We are negotiating with the parks people and they are quite positive about it because it is money to go back into the community.

"They have not said no, but we are just trying to find the best place for it."

He said he hoped sponsors would come forward to help finance the project.

And he added the putting green, which used to raise a lot of money for the bowling club, could help to collect funds for Haworth in Bloom.

Mike added: "There will be flowers among it and that sort of stuff to make it pretty. It would bring another aspect to the park and village for people and visitors alike. It would add more to the park."
