A Glusburn artist is hoping to inject a little creativity into one of the village's oldest works of art.
Tamsin Headey, 24, who lives in Cross Hills, has taken up the challenge of transforming the grade II listed Glusburn Institute into a creative haven for local people.
The Durham University graduate has taken up the role of part-time development officer and is planning a summer music festival to kick-start her new career.
"The building needs a new lease of life. I want people in the area to get involved and come forward with ideas and suggestions on how best we can utilise the space on offer here," she said.
President of the committee Allan Clough said: "We have brought Tamsin in so we can develop the institute and find out what people in the area now want it to be used for as needs have changed over the years."Tamsin is available at the institute on Fridays and Saturday mornings or can be contacted on 01535 630223.
