STARS of television's SAS challenge series turned out to take the 'Who Dares Wins' spirit to Keighley's annual Bunny run series of fell races.

Adventure racer Mark Chryssanthou and Former Airedale Hospital consultant, Dr Wendy Dodds, recently took part in BBC's challenge programme SAS - Are You Tough Enough? and both reached the later stages of the competition.

Wendy is Over 50's English Fell Racing Champion and met her match in the race from The Guide Inn over Harden Moor.

She finished 120th out of 234 starters, with Mark finishing in 35th place.

Local runner, Ian Holmes, who has won 22 Bunny Run titles over the years, was beaten in the final 500 yards by 18-year-old Mark Buckingham who also claimed his eighth Egg Stage win.

Following the tradition of the race, all the prizes were Easter eggs.

In the ladies event Keighley & Craven's Helen Glover finished second behind Yorkshire champion Natalie White.

Third place went to English Under-13 champion Blue Haywood. The diminutive Blue was also first in the Under-14 girls section.

Bingley Harrier Harry Atkinson won the Over-50s men's race and there was also plenty of fun at the presentation evening in the pub following the event.

The second race was run on Tuesday with the final races in the series on April 20 and april 27 and the Bunny run Relays on May 4.
