Talk about an eventful weekend! We had a very Good Friday and a very Black Monday. What matters now is how we react.

The size of the squad is being severely tested even at this early stage with several players carrying niggling injuries. But nonetheless, the lads are showing great determination and character -- several players have played through the pain barrier of late which is a credit to them.

We are at home on Sunday and have the chance to get back to winning ways, please come down and get behind the boys.

We have drawn Barrow Raiders away in the Arriva Trains Cup play-off for a place in the quarter final stages of the competition.

Getting to this stage is another achievement for the club. This is the best progress we have made over the last three years.

Obviously we had hoped for a home draw, the extra revenue that brings and another chance for the Cougar Army to support our cup run.

I recently popped on to ward eight at Airedale hospital to see a good friend of mine -- former Keighley scrum-half and well known retired local publican Walt Baldwin.

He is in hospital following a hip replacement and I asked young Walt (now in his eighties) if, when fit, whether he could work with our under 21s.

They could do with an 'old head' to bring them on a little and Walt said he would love to help us out -- but he has had another offer and is leaving his options open!

And there was me thinking I was offering him the chance to resurrect his career, I ask you! Get well soon, Walt.

Bradford City are looking at life in Division Two and Faro and Farmer have finally admitted defeat.

Mossy is loving it and is still defiant Burnley will not join them in the drop!
