Organisers of Haworth in Bloom braved the wet weather on Sunday to raise over £500.
More than 20 volunteers manned a wide range of stalls at a spring fair, in Overdale Terrace, and scores more villagers went along to make the event a success.
Spokesman Mike Hutchinson said many of the volunteers had been forced to return home to change into dry clothing after setting up the stalls in torrential rain.
He said: "We did ever so well. But if the weather had been better we could have done a lot more. It did dampen spirits a little."
Among the stalls were books and bric-a-brac, which will again be on sale at a jumble sale, at West Lane Methodist Church, at 7pm tonight. Entry is 20p.
Mr Hutchinson added that proceeds from the two events would go straight towards the village's entry into Yorkshire in Bloom.
He added: "The money will go towards some hanging baskets and to get some summer flowers.
"But we also want to put some money in the bank for winter flowers next year."
