Congratulations to our Junior Academy who had a superb 22 - 12 away win last Sunday at Leigh Centurions.

The young guys have had a couple of heavy defeats so far this season but obviously everything fell into place last weekend.

One of the highlights of the game was a 50 metre try scored by Tobias "The Terminator" Williams.

Apparently, young Toby scattered all before him on his dash to the line to score.

Mind you, I wouldn't like to stand in his way -- Toby almost lives in the Cougar Park gym.

I'm sure they were never that big in my day!

It will be interesting in the Roe household this weekend.

Former Cougar boss Peter Roe is now head coach at Barrow. We managed to do the double over his Swinton side last season and no doubt Roey will be out for revenge.

It's Mrs Roe that has the real dilemma though -- who does she support on Sunday ?

Son Chris is a Cougar player and likely to be in the squad to face his dad's outfit.

Does she cheer for both sides? Does she shout at Peter every time one of his forwards tackles her boy?

Either way I suppose Jeanette is the only Roe that cannot really lose on the day! See you on Sunday, Peter.

Well done to Silsden AFC who will become the first Keighley-based club to join the football pyramid system next season when they step up to compete in the North West Counties League.

They are one of the most successful local amateur soccer teams of the modern era since the days of the well known Magnet team of the 70s and 80s. Silsden play their games at Cougar Park and have enjoyed a great season. They have also applied to play in the FA Cup next season which conjures up a few thoughts. Imagine Mossy's face if the Clarets were drawn to play at Cougar Park! I wonder if Faro and Farmer would boycott the ground -- interesting thought don't you think?
