Farsley Celtic under-14s won the West Riding Girls' Cup for the second year running with a 5-1 victory over Hebden Bridge Saints.

Farsley beat some of the best teams in West Yorkshire en route to the final, where they met their oldest rivals.

In the first half, Farsley took a two-goal lead before being pegged back by the Saints in the last minute of the half.

The Farsley girls rallied in the second half and scored three more goals. Annie Murphy grabbed a hat-trick and Faye Boshell scored twice.

Farsley played their best football of the season to beat Morley Spurs 4-3 in a game that pitted together arguably the best two teams in the West Riding League.

Morley took the lead but Farsley did not let their heads drop and came back to score twice.

In the second half, Morley really came at Farsley determined to keep their 100 per cent winning record for the season. Farsley buckled and allowed Morley to equalise and then take the lead. However, Farsley are made of stern stuff and they once again equalised and then took the lead.

They managed to hang on for the remaining five minutes to record a famous victory. The goal-scorers were Sarah Cromack, Lorna Stringwell, Murphy and Vicky Mladenovic.
