The 19th Jack Bloor Fell Races will be staged on Ilkley Moor on Tuesday, May 11. The senior race starts at 7.15 pm with the juniors starting at 6.15 pm.
The senior race is a navigational fell race of 5.2 miles and takes in the Badger Stone, the Swastika Stone, Cowpers Cross and the ruin at Gill Head.
The course record for the men is held by Greg Hull with 39.03 while Lucy Wright holds the ladies' record with 45.57 1995.
The junior races are held over flagged courses and are suitable for the following age groups: 6-9 years 0.5 miles; 10-13 years 1 mile; 14-16 years 1.5 miles.
Races start abd finish at the Millennium Gardens on Ilkley Moor.
Entries will be taken on the day only. Registration is from 6pm seniors, juniors 5.30pm. Please note that toilet facilities are not available.
The senior entry fee is £3 and the junior entry fee is £1. There will be individual and team prizes. Enquiries to Peter Haines on 01943 607725 (before 9pm).
These races are a tribute to Jack Bloor and all profits are used to promote outdoor activities and sporting interests for young people.
Since its foundation in 1985, the Jack Bloor Fund has awarded over £7,200 in grants to over 110 young men and women.
