THE Wharfedale Aikido club, based at St Mary's School, Menston gained major successes at the British Aikido Association National Junior Championships at the National Indoor arena, Birmingham.
In the under-10s age category they produced the overall National Champions in Tom Ashurst and Daniel White and medal winners in the under- 8s age category in Callum Aldridge and Matthew Ehret.
Just missing out on medal positions were Hannah Screeton, Alisa Hunter and Rebecca Screeton.
The club took a total of two golds, two silvers and one bronze giving the club its highest team placing of third at National level.
The Coach Bob Jones, 6th Dan said: "I am very pleased with the effort the club has made and the excellent standard of performance at the competition."
