Mirfield seem to come up trumps at their relegation rivals. They defeated Spen Victoria last month and on Saturday they won a low-scoring contest at Undercliffe.

Neil Parkinson (5-76), pictured, and skipper Mark Fairburn (5-59) bowled throughout as Undercliffe were dismissed for 144, Gary Topp (40) and the consistent Michael Kelsey (33 not out) making the top two scores.

However, Mir-field's teamwork was even better as they won by two wickets despite no-one scoring above 24. In fact, 'Mr Extras' led the way with 26. Greg Lambert took five for 55 for the losers.

Baildon's capacity for coming second in close matches continued at Tofts Road, Pudsey St Lawrence getting home by three wickets with three balls to spare. Visiting captain Simon Davies batted throughout for 109 not out in their 213 for eight, adding 61 with David Clow and 53 with Jaffer Nazir.

Mark Whitehead (55) gave Saints a solid start, Gary Fellows continued the good work and Andrew Doidge and Christo Karamaker saw them home, Mushtaq Ahmed finding from at last with five for 57.

Bilal Asad was the match-winner for Saltaire at home to Wood-lands, hitting 63 and taking five for 54 off 22 overs in their 21-run success. He was well backed up by Mansha Khan (3-24).

Neil Gill again showed what a reliable performer he is with five for 79 in leaders Pudsey Congs' seven-wicket triumph at Hanging Heaton. Mark Bray supported him admirably with three for 68, also off 25 overs, and Paul Carroll guided Congs home with an unbeaten 71.

With Woodlands losing, Cleck-heaton are back up to second after a gritty three-wicket derby win at home to Spen Victoria. Brothers John (39) and Ian Wood (33 not out) were the main contributors to Spen's 137 all out, Faisal Irfan taking four for 42 and Ian Austin a miserly three for 13 off 14 overs. Ismail Dawood then scored 53, Kez Ahmed taking four for 31.

Farsley suffered only their third defeat of the season, Idle's Ian Dewhurst taking six for 45 as they were shot out for 97.
