The Bulls had 16 heroes and one villain as they overcame the 26th-minute sending off of Karl Pratt to beat Wakefield 36-26 at Odsal yesterday.

Pratt received his marching orders for his part in an all-in brawl that kicked off following an altercation between Leon Pryce and Wildcats wing Semi Tadulala.

Pryce and Tadulala both received yellow cards, leaving the Bulls down to 11 men for ten minutes, but they raised their game to outscore Wakefield 6-0 before Pryce returned.

Coach Brian Noble hailed the heroic effort: "The character and the positive way they kept playing was outstanding. I am thoroughly delighted with them. If we had kept 13 men on the field we would have run away with the game."

Noble's men had to survive a late scare when Wakefield crossed for two late tries but Lesley Vainikolo sealed the victory with his second try in the dying stages.

Stuart Reardon was sensational at full back, scoring a try and creating another for Rob Parker as the Bulls made light of their numerical handicap.

Jamie Peacock and Paul Deacon also crossed as the Bulls out-gunned the Wildcats six tries to five. Pratt's dismissal overshadowed the debut of Iestyn Harris but Noble was impressed with his

new signing's performance after sending him on for the final 28 minutes.

"It was a difficult game for him to get into but I thought he showed with the few touches he had that he is a quality acquisition," said Noble.

Harris pronounced himself happy with his first up effort after being thrown into the fray at centre and having to cope with the absence of a winger outside him.

"It was a scrappy game and it is always difficult when you go down to 12 men but it was good to get one under the belt," said Harris.

"I just want to get some game-time now and really get into the action. I've just got to keep working hard in training and hopefully things will slot into place."
