The Bulls are not downhearted despite letting slip a golden opportunity to climb Tetley's Super League with Friday's defeat at Wigan.

"We still believe we will get to the Grand Final," said prop Joe Vagana.

"There is still plenty of self-belief within our four walls. We have been through a rough patch but with the calibre of players that we have I am sure we'll climb out of it. People forget that we've lost five key players and we've had a bad run of injuries. Losing our halves has meant we've had different combinations every fortnight, so we've had a bit of trouble. But we are going to stick tight, we are a close team and we are sure we'll climb out of it."

And Vagana is still not writing off the Bulls' chances of securing a vital top-two spot ahead of the play-offs.

"It doesn't look like it but we have nine games left and anything can happen," he said. "Who's to say that the top teams won't lose their next four matches? We've got nine games left ourselves to make amends and we are looking forward to winning them." After trailing 12-0 inside the opening ten minutes at Wigan the Bulls fought back magnificently but didn't do enough to secure victory when they dominated the middle stages of the match, said Vagana.

"We were pretty disappointed with our performance. We didn't take the opportunities that came our way and made a few lapses in defence. We got off to a bad start so we did quite well to come back but we let them back into the game with our mistakes."

l The Bulls home fixture against Wigan scheduled for Sunday, August 15 has now been moved to Friday, August 13 at 8pm.
