Dan Hopkinson could not prevent Calverley suffering a miserable weekend with defeat in Division B and a Waddilove Cup semi-final exit.

The Aussie all-rounder cracked 72 in Saturday's league defeat to Knaresbor-ough and followed that with 29 and two for 40 as Bilton clinched a place in the cup final 24 hours later.

Calverley's form in the cup has been in stark contrast to that in the league where they are languishing in the relegation zone. Calverley had beaten Burley, Hall Park and Steeton en route to the semi-finals but could not repeat their cup heroics as Bilton triumphed by seven wickets.

Hopkinson's 29 and a useful 32 by Steve Alred helped Calverley to 126 for nine, a total Bilton comfortably eased past with six overs to spare to earn a final date with Follifoot on Sunday, August 8.

A day earlier, Calverley had slipped to a third successive league defeat despite Hopkinson and Steve Moore putting 127 runs on for the first wicket at home to Knaresborough. The visitors then hit back to restrict Calverley 189 for eight with Tom Metcalf taking five for 44 before Jonathan Corcoran led the successful reply with 45.

Calverley's defeat means Ilkley stay outside the bottom two, despite slumping to defeat at home to Silsden. Chasing Ilkley's 90 all out, Silsden eased to victory with five wickets to spare with Lee Bilborough top-scoring with 30. Both sides are level on 24 points but Calverley have lost more games, while Skipton, whose game with Illingworth was abandoned, are bottom with 18 points.

Leaders Burley claimed four points from a winning draw after Thackley failed to take advantage of a golden opportunity to claim victory. Needing just three runs to win from the final 12 deliveries, Thackley could muster just one as Burley claimed a winning draw. Earlier, Ian Normington had hit 67 not out and Ben Harris 58 to help Burley to 192 for four in a contest reduced to 30 overs-per-side. Second-placed Tong Park's clash with Collingham also fell victim to the weather so Burley are now eight points clear.

Matthew Hutton hit an unbeaten 68 to help Rawdon beat Kirkstall Educational and move out of the bottom two in Division A. Bruce Percy also hit 42 and Dennis Rock, who earlier had taken six for 66, scored 27 not out as Rawdon lost just four wickets in chasing Kirkstall's 183 for nine.

Menston slipped into the bottom two, five points behind Rawdon, after a 111-run defeat at North Leeds. Richard Taylor took seven for 92 to restrict the home side to 174 for eight but Menston were then humbled for just 63. North Leeds moved on to 59 points, just three behind leaders Bilton.

Hall Park are bottom on 14 points, eight behind Menston, after their clash at Guiseley was abandoned, while Otley have been dragged back into the relegation fight with defeat at home to Follifoot.

Andrew Burke took three for 33 but Follifoot triumphed by four wickets to leave Otley just two points ahead of Rawdon in the table.

In Division C, promotion-chasing Horsforth suffered a first defeat in ten outings at home to Colton but remain 17 points clear of the chasing pack. Chetan Mankad hit 74 and took three for 65 but it was Colton who won by 53 runs, which allowed Bardsey to stretch their lead at the top to six points with a winning draw at Olicanian.

Rob Verity helped Harden to 199 for six in reply to Alwoodley's 216 for seven while Ben Rhydding lost by four wickets at Woodhouse. Bolton Villas, fresh from the previous week's first win of the season, had their clash at Addingham abandoned without a ball being bowled.
