A bludgeoning century by Alex Stead helped Pudsey St Lawrence to victory in a high-scoring game against Saltaire on Sunday.

Stead hit seven sixes and six fours in an innings full of entertainment. He was ably assisted by Gary Fellows (67) and Stewart Smith (51no) as the home side galloped to 288 for five.

Earlier, Saltaire had been no slouches with the bat scoring 286 for nine. Their top scorer was M Asim with 72. He and F Maqsood (60) put on 106 for the sixth wicket.

Pudsey Congs's late-season stutter continued when they picked up one point in a losing draw at Farsley and they now lead the table by just one point from Woodlands.

The home side batted first and scored 218 for five. Congs then made a dreadful start losing Paul Carroll (4) and David Paynter (0) with just seven on the board.

Andy Bethel (47) steadied things but the visitors couldn't master James Anyon, who finished with four for 54. At the end Congs were hanging on at 176 for eight.

Baildon continued their quest for mid-table security with a winning draw at home to East Bierley.

They amassed 272 for eight with Simon Davies (86) and Paul Spragg (65) sharing an opening stand of 110.

After losing Jonathan Proud for a duck, East Bierley moved on to 151 for five - and one point.

Spen Victoria had their hopes of avoiding relegation boosted with a home win over Idle.

The visitors were dismissed for 170 with Chris Elstub taking four for 15.

Spen made a disastrous start to their innings losing their first three wickets for ten runs, but John Wood (47) steadied the ship and Ian Wood (59no) and Thomas Baker (36no) saw them home.

Former Notts batsman Guy Welton was the star for Mirfield both Saturday and Sunday. After inspiring his side to victory at Idle with 98 not out, he performed heroics again on Sunday with 111 at home to Bankfoot.

His side scored 273 for five but Mirfield had to be content with a winning draw as Bankfoot held out at 212 for eight. Micky Hutchins top-scored with 75.

Woodlands continue to harrass Pudsey Congs at the top of table and on Sunday grabbed another six points with a win at home to Hanging Heaton. The visitors batted first, scoring 157. Woodlands made a fine reply scoring 84 for the first wicket through Murphy Walwyn (71) and Nick Whitehill (37no) before cantering to victory. Walwyn's picture was published instead of player of the week Safraz Ahmed in Monday's Yorkshire Sports, but after this knock nobody can begrudge the big-hitter his star billing. Cleckheaton are still in the hunt for the title after a close win over Undercliffe.

Adam Patel scored an undefeated 110 for Cleck who went on to make 237 for six.

Undercliffe looked like they would win the match at 179 for four but then a spectacular collapse saw them fall short by five runs.
