Otley RUFC's close season recruitment drive continues with the signing of Chris Hall, the flying former Leeds Tykes winger. He becomes the club's highest profile acquisition of the summer.

Hall, 25, joined Leeds from Morley in 2000 and helped them win promotion to the Premiership scoring a series of spectacular tries.

He was surprisingly ditched last year and disappeared from the game for a while. He played for Hunslet Hawks at RL but after recovering from a serious knee injury he is looking for a way back to top flight rugby union.

Otley coach Peter Clegg is happy to offer him that opportunity.

"Chris is a player I have admired for some time. I have seen him score some cracking tries," said Clegg.

Otley have already made significant signings as well as retaining some of their big names such as Justin Wring and Kris Fullman.

Otley pulled off another major coup by signing back-rower Glen Wilson from relegated rivals Wakefield.

The former Yorkshire and Wakefield captain was an outstanding performer for his club in the last two seasons. He is now relishing the prospect of joining the much-vaunted Otley pack.

Another of Otley's new signings is experienced second-row Howard Parr, 31, who joins Otley having missed the 2003/04 season due to his involvement in the War in Iraq as an RAF Flight Lieutenant.

Prior to that, he played for Rotherham Titans during their National League Division One winning side in 2002/03 and also during their first stint in the Premiership in 2001/02.

Parr is equally at home in either the second row or the back row.

Another newcomer is centre Paul Mooney who recently starred for the England Counties side in Canada.

Mooney, 21, joins the club from National League Division Three North outfit Tynedale.

He represented Northumberland in the 2004 County Championship and was rewarded with a place on the England Counties tour to Canada in June 2004.

Three promising young players to join the club are Matt Stockdale, Kyle Dench and Neil Taylor.

Stockdale, 21, is an open side flanker and joins the club from Leeds Tykes. He represented Yorkshire in the 2004 County Championship whilst making a handful of appearances in the Premiership.

Dench, 21, is an up and coming talent who has joined Otley from North Yorkshire side Driffield. He represented Yorkshire in the National U-20s County Championship side at Twickenham in 2003. He was also Youth Development Officer whilst at Driffield.

Taylor, 22, is another young centre who used to be part of the Leeds Tykes Academy and played his rugby in France last season.
