Bradford teenager and 2003 Kart Champion, Andy J Wilson, extended his advantage in the Manchester & Buxton Kart Club Senior TKM Championship at the Three Sisters International race circuit near Wigan.

In wet conditions Wilson took a win (from pole) and a third place (from 22nd) in the eight-lap heats to secure pole position for the ten-lap final.

All the heats were run in persistent rain but as the final approached the rain stopped and the track started to dry out. This produced frantic activity on the grid as drivers decided whether to stay with wet tyres or change to slicks.

Wilson changed to slicks as did most of the others and this proved to be the correct decision as his smooth style enabled him to pull away from the field to win comfortably by 11.72 seconds, setting the fastest lap in the process.

The victory followed his first-ever win at the PF International circuit near Newark in Lincolnshire at the Trent Valley Kart Club meeting at the beginning of the month.

"The win at PFI has come at just the right time, so I am hopeful of some good results in the coming weeks." said Wilson. "I'd like to thank Adrian Spence and Dave Mosey at AS Autos of Undercliffe for their continuing support", he added.

Wilson has a busy month ahead, starting with the three-day Kartmasters GP meeting at PF International this weekend. This is followed by the three-day TKM festival at Kimbolton in Cambridgeshire the following week and the fifth round of the Elf/BTE Lawline Super 1 National Kart Championship at PF Inter-national on the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Kartmasters and Festival meetings will be shown on Sky Sports.
