When you are playing against your home-town club it is bound to be a big game.

But Bradford Bulls' second-rower Lee Radford's return to Hull tomorrow is probably bigger than most.

"Massive" was the word the 25-year-old used to describe his return to the KC Stadium, and Radford also feels "massive" applies to its potential importance come the end of the season.

But the Great Britain and England forward does not think that second-placed Hull are in a false position.

"They are where they deserve to be," said Radford, who played 19 games for Hull in 1996-98 before joining the Bulls.

"The league system has been set up for several years now and just because a side from outside the top six are right up near the top then people are querying it, but Hull are where they should be.

"For example, they beat St Helens 34-6 at the KC Stadium two weekends ago and almost became the first side to nill them in the Tetley's Super League. Hull are doing really well and things are really coming together for them."

Ask Radford which two players he admires the most from Hull at the moment, and he says: "Paul King and Richard Horne."

The 6ft 2in, 16st 6lb second-rower added: "Paul is getting them forwards, as is Ewan Dowes, and Richard is playing out of his skin.

"Shaun Briscoe is also on form and they have quality players in every area."

But having said that, Radford is also conscious of the Bulls' record at the KC Stadium. He said: "We may only have played there once, but we have a 100 per cent winning record there and we intend to keep it that way!"

Again the match followed on for the Bulls from a home contest against London Broncos, and 12-man Hull were defeated 26-20 in a thriller in front of over 19,000 fans.

The match was poised at 10-10 when Richard Fletcher was controversially sent off in the 54th minute for kicking out at Karl Pratt, who had scored Bradford's first try in the first half.

Fletcher had scored what he thought was a legitimate try, but the touch judge had seen him flick out at Pratt on the way to the line.

Within a minute of Hull being reduced to 12 men, Shontayne Hape, who is still being tipped in many quarters to join Hull for next season, went over to set the Bulls on their way to victory.

Richie Barnett senior got Hull off to a flier in the second half with a try, and Dean Treister and Radford were later even sin-binned for trading punches. Lesley Vainikolo's try made it 26-10, but Hull added late efforts by Horne and Best.
