Silsden squandered two points at home to the league's bottom club Leek with a lackluster display last weekend.

the cobbydalers started the brightly, but missed the first of what was to be a hatful of chances on seven minutes when Dale Hoyle played in Jimmy Hedges who shot into the side netting with the goal gaping.

Jonathan Luckett Farley did well a minute later to create a chance for Hedges to cross for Hoyle who hit the post with his header with the keeper beaten.

The first 20 minutes were Silsden's with Reed and new signing James Nettleton in command at the back, but Leek started to creep into the game and on 26 minutes Foulger had to be at his best to save at the feet of Haddrell when the little striker broke free of the Silsden defence.

The rest of the first half was even with both midfields playing it tight until Holden swept in a cross for the evergreen Hoyle to sneak in at the near post to plunder his second goal of the campaign and take the Cobbydalers into the break with a 1-0 lead.

The second half saw the Stafford shire side come out the brighter and twice in the first ten minutes the excellent Foulger in the Silsden goal thwarted Nagington as the mercurial striker tormented The silsden defence. On 64 minutes Silsden sent on Spencer and Holmes for Luckett-Farley and the busy Hanson but within 30 seconds Leek were level as Buxton broke free on the left and crossed into a crowded Silsden box to find Naginton again unmarked. This time he drilled it into the corner of Foulger's goal to put Leek level.

In the last 20 minutes either side could have snatched three points with first Gill for silsden missing from six yards and then Nagington for Leek hitting a post with Foulger beaten and even in the dying seconds Spencer created a chance from nothing only for Johnson to block his shot.

Both sides will feel this was two points dropped rather than one gained.

n They followed up with a 3-1 defeat at Oldham Town on Wednesday.

They conceded two goals int he first half, but later in the game Andy Holden curled in a free kick togive Silsden hope.

Geary threw hismen forward and as they pushed for an equaliser they were caught out at the back as the home side made certain of maximum points.

n On Saturday they travel to Hebburn Town in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup, kick off 3pm.

n Steeton came from behind in dramatic fashion to claim their first victory on Wednesday against Otley Town.

Joynal Ali's opener was cancelled out by two Brighouse strikes, however a Damian Whiteoak header and a tremendous solo effort from Paul Goodwin gave the locals a deserved victory.
