Silsden brought home a two wicket victory over Illingworth after a nail-biting contest.

The home side batted first on a difficult wicket which was still drying out after a week of heavy rain.

They struggled to 108 with Dave Senior taking four wickts for 32 runs and M Shuttleworth snapping up 3-27 as they took advantage of the condisitons.

Silsden found things far from easy in the reply with P Jackson scoring leading the batting with 30 not out as he saw them to a slender victory.

Steeton suffered a nine-wicket defeat at the hands of Collingham despite a confident batting performance.

They scored 174-8 with Alex Howarth top scoring with 65 and John Akrigg adding 35. They were backed up by Gary Boulton with 31.

The Summerhill Lane side's bowlers had little luck as Collingham strolled to 175-1 with M Cook on 83 and B Leigh scoring 66.

Harden's batsmen found it tough as they sturggled to 99 against Ben Rhydding with J McTigue taking 6-43.

The bowlers found more success but the visitors eased home with seven wickets down.

Silsden 2nd XI Picked up five points from a wining draw with Bolton Villas. J Tiollotson was top scorer with 40 as Silsden reached 142 and Villas held out on 77-8 asDave Baluk took three wickets for just eight runs in a 15-over spell which included eight maidens.
