Silsden were the only Airedale & Wharfeale side from the Craven district to obtain any satisfaction from last weekend's rain-hit programme on a day when long-time Division B leaders Burley clinched promotion with a nine-wicket win over second-placed Tong Park.

Silsden had to work hard for their win at Illingworth, but they finally got home with two wickets in hand after bowling the Halifax side out for 108. Daniel Senior (4-32) and Matthew Shuttleworth (3-27) did the damage for Silsden.

Neighbours Steeton fared less well at Collingham. An opening stand of 92 by Alex Howarth (65) and John Akrigg (36) hinted at better things to come, but only Gary Boulton (31) could make much headway after that, although 174-8 looked a respectable tally.

When Collingham batted, however, it looked anything but as openers Cooke (83) and Leigh (66no) put in a brisk 142 for the first wicket and incoming batsman Thompson joined Leigh to see the home side to a nine-wicket win in 33 lively overs.

Elsewhere the picture was bleak. Skipton did not get a start at Sandylands against Calverley and Upper Wharfedale were also denied activity at Alwoodley.

Addingham managed to beat the rain at home to Horsforth, but the Leeds side bowled them out for 81 and triumphed by four wickets.
