Lee Radford is hoping last weekend's crushing loss at Leeds will inspire the Bulls to avoid a similar fate when they visit his home-town club Hull FC on Monday.

"It's a funny thing, sometimes confidence inspires you and sometimes disappointment inspires you," said Radford.

"Hopefully it be the latter this week and the Leeds match inspires us to get the two points."

Losing a third consecutive match to Leeds in a season is tough to swallow for anyone associated with Bradford, but a third loss to Hull would be almost too much to take for Radford, who even joked that he would consider retirement.

"I've had stick for the last couple of months," he said. "It gets on your nerves a little bit. Everybody is writing us off, saying we are not good enough to get to the Grand Final this year. We have to put a few people back in their place.

"We got beaten in every department last week and we needed to have a good look at ourselves. The good thing about rugby league is that you have a chance to turn it around the next week, and that's what we have to do.

"This game has become even more important to us, so we have to start producing the goods. Leeds have done the hat-trick over us and Hull will be looking to do the same so we have got to nip them in the bud. We have got to stand up and be counted."

The Bulls lie three points adrift of second-placed Hull with just four matches remaining, but have not yet given up hope of overhauling them to earn a shot at a short route to Old Trafford.

"We are confident we can do it," said Radford.

"Last week's defeat has ruffled a few feathers and we'll be going out all guns blazing. Hopefully we can take two points off them today and they'll slip up somewhere else. It's possible. Who'd have thought that they'd lose at Castleford last week? There are still plenty of upsets that can happen, so we are still pushing pretty hard for second."
