THERE'S probably not been any £1 million players gracing the Craven Football League. But Rick Holden, who went from Oldham Athletic to Manchester City turned out for his first club, Embsay in a night match - and scored two goals.
Holden, Embsay born and bred, is now back living near Keighley and is employed as physio to Barnsley FC. He has signed on with the Craven Premier League side although his Oakwell commitments mean he will only be available for night matches.
Holden was signed from local football and played one game for Burnley before spending two seasons with Halifax and two with Watford before a move to Oldham. While there he played in an FA Cup semi-final and league cup final before his big money move to City, for whom he made 50 appearances scoring three goals.
