Jazz, folk and the Beach Boys can be heard at Glusburn Institute this month in a series of concerts.

The Ken Marley Trio kick off the season tomorrow by playing revamped jazz standards and a tribute to Benny Carter.

Beach Boys Inc perform a tribute to the summer sound of Brian Wilson's pop group on October 15 with hits including California Girls.

The Demon Barber Roadshow brings local musician Damien Barber's folk-rock band to the venue on October 23.

n Keighley plays host to a massive night of metal mayhem on Saturday October 9 as three bands play the Victoria Hotel.

Bradford band The Belonging headline at the Cavendish Street venue with their doomy death metal. Opening some time after 7.30pm is Keighley band Hardcore Pirates of Doom, making their live debut. Also playing is four-piece Keighley band Ironstorm which offers 80s and 90s covers ranging from AC/DC to Dimmu Borgia.

The Pirates' guitarist is Aldo Delarose who plays drums for Ironstorm alongside lead guitarist John Demaine, bassist Shaun Carruthers and singer Mick Walsh. Tickets cost £2.50 on the door.

n A Grand Celtic Christmas Rock and Roll Ceilidh is on offer from Johnny and the Poorboys as they team up with fellow Keighley band The Big Bang.

The popular outfits play together for the first time as they raise money for Manorlands at Victoria Hall on December 18.

n A music entrepreneur from Keighley is to embark upon a four-date world tour with an internationally renowned hip-hop DJ.

Former Keighley College student Sabir Hussain, aka Saby Khan, 29, has joined forces with Black Eyed Peas DJ Monroe Walkers -- aka DJ Motiv8 -- for the four-date tour.

The tour, which also features a Poet Named Life from Los Angeles, will set off at a club in Munich, Germany today. They will be in Liverpool tomorrow, the Budwara club in Dubai on Wednesday and wind up in London on Thursday at Club Roccoco.

Along with DJ Motiv8 and Poet Named Life Saby will be promoting new signing Gregory Pavlov -- aka Double-E -- an 18-year-old former Skipton Grammar student who is studying Law at Leicester University.

"I believe he has got the talent to be the UK's version of Eminem. He has great lyrics and freestyle and a big future to look forward to," he said.
