The hard working Skipton secretary, Peter Howarth enjoyed a rare taste of success when he teamed up with Rob Ellis to win the Aire-Wharfe Pairs at Guiseley with a 21-11 victory over a Farsley pairing.

The Aire-Wharfe season comes to a close on Saturday with the Jennings Crackles Final at Calverley when local hopes Oxenhope meet league champions Shipley A who should provide tough opposition.

Cross Roads are in the Aire-Wharfe area for the Yorkshire Parks Veterans Cup and their grouping gives them every chance of success. The final is at Baialdon when they could face Bradford champions, Brighouse.
