SHELL-shocked Skipton face a difficult task if they are to make a swift recovery from a hammering at West Leeds.

Barnsley are the visitors to Sandylands tomorrow, and the south Yorkshire side have made an unbeaten start to the season after winning promotion.

Skipton see the 60-7 debacle as a one-off collective bad day, but it has certainly dampened any thoughts that a prompt return to Division Two would be easily achieved. Defeat tomorrow would leave Skipton seriously off the pace.

Keir Downey, their signing from Bradford and Bingley, who was due to make his debut last week failed to make his appearance after pulling a hamstring in training on Thursday night but he should be fit to meet Barnsley.

Paul Lacy returns to the side after his work commitments ruled him out last week and prop Peter Jenkinson is in the same boat.

There's a switch in the back row with Sam Boatwright coming in at flanker, Darren Roberts moving to the second row and Graham Newhouse moving to the bench.

Skipton: Richards, Marks, Downey, Litt, Lacy; Howsen, Barraclough; Fitzsimons, Hindle, Jenkinson, Wilshire, Roberts, Boatwright, MK Wilson, Davison.

Replacements: Newhouse, Beech, Firth
