Bradford Park Avenue can put the worry of their lowly placing in the Conference North out of their minds tomorrow when Brigg Town visit Horsfall Stadium in the FA Cup.

After knocking out a team from a lower league when they beat Squires Gate 2-1 in the last round, Avenue once again face opposition below them in the pyramid system.

Third qualifying round opponents Brigg are new to UniBond Division One.

"They are a good outfit and not a bad footballing side. They like to play the game properly," said Avenue boss Carl Shutt, who names an unchanged squad but admits there will be a couple of fitness tests in the morning.

"I think we can beat anybody but I also know we can beat ourselves. We proved that last week when we conceded a goal inside a minute and ended the first half with nine men.

"You can't do that and expect to win games.

"We can train right, prepare the players, pick the best team for the game and cajole them but once we send them out it is down to them.

"I like a team to show spirit but it's no good doing it after going a goal or two behind. We need maximum effort and if we get what we got from nine players last week from all 11 tomorrow, we will be all right.

"The Redditch game proved we are still not getting the rub of the green and that decisions are still going against us. That cost us three points but it's gone, it's history now. We are looking forward to the cup and the next league game.

"If you keep looking back you lose sight of where you are going."

Ever-present right back Andy Quinn is desperate for a win and hopes the club will emulate their run of last season and reach the first round.

"The FA Cup is great for supporters and nice for the players involved," said Quinn, who has passed 200 appearances for Avenue.

"I'd love to get to the first round and get a Football League club at home again.

It would make up for me missing last year and it would be good for the club and the finances."
