Mini-cameras are being used in Keighley bus shelters to trap criminals.
The hidden high-tech devices are proving hugely successful in slashing vandalism.
County transport body Metro introduced the units as part of an overall upgrade of its CCTV coverage. The mobile cameras are concealed at shelters in crime hotspots.
Video pictures of incidents and suspected offenders are sent to the police to help capture the culprits and to be used as evidence in court.
The initiative has now been shortlisted for an innovation prize in the national Bus Industry Awards.
A Metro spokesman said: "These cameras are moved around to locations where there are known crime and vandalism problems.
"For obvious reasons we do not want to go into great detail about how or where precisely they are concealed, but the cameras are proving extremely beneficial."
The so-called "sheltercams" were developed by Holmfirth-based company Vetatech.
