The Cougars were given a lesson in fast flowing rugby by an organised Hull side who played the basics very well. Under immense presure the Cubs held firm until midway through the first half when the Skirlaugh Prop broke the deadlock, crossing for the first of his hat-trick of tries.
The home side was rock solid in defence only Matty Walton and man of the match Jack Cawood causing them any real concern

Siddal 40
The Cubs faced up to a Siddal side keen to show their strength. A very physical first half produced three tries for the visitors without reply.
In the second half the Cubs could fare no better, Siddal pushing constantly at the Cubs line and the score moving ever more in the visitors favor. The final score does not reflect the effort put in by the home side. These teams will meet a further three times this season and every game should be exciting with the Cubs looking for revenge.

David Allen (most improved) & Kieran Tarpy (coach's award) both relatively new players to the game, provided some excellent rugby. Old hand Alex Whitehead walked away with the man of the match award for a typical, all round performance.
