Oxenhope's great start to the season continued with a 2-0 win over arch rivals Bronte Wanderers, with now only one defeat in their opening seven league and cup matches things are looking good with their new look young side.

It was a tense start with neither team giving the opposition time on the ball, but after both teams had settled down it was Oxenhope who had the best chance but Joel Gallagher fired straight at Lee Nelson in the Bronte goal.

At half time there was no score but both teams came out fired up and keen to score the first goal chances went at both ends but the breakthrough came when Johnny Broadbent won the ball in midfield and fed a defence splitting pass to Gallagher who unselfishly squared for Nivard Trowers to fire home.

Oxenhope then raised the tempo and after 75 minutes made the points safe when a passing move involving 4 players was finished off by skipper Dave Collier.

Bronte then rallied but Oxenhopes rearguard held firm to keep a clean sheet and take all the points.

The two sides meet again this week in the Keighley Cup.
