Carly Robertson has been selected to represent English Karate in Italy later this year.
She will take part in the Venice Karate Cup which is one of the top martial arts competitions in Europe.
Carly, a member of the Bismillah club, won the under 5 ft brown/black belt and was third in girls team in the recent EKGB championships. Akeel Hussain was third in the boys team event and Mohamed Ais was third in the boys team event over 5ft 6ins.
In the SKU championships Carly won the brown belt under-5ft, Joane Robinson won the over 5ft 6ins section and Kuram Ilyas was third in the 16-17 age group and second in the senior team event.
The Seidokan Club sent a small cadet team to the Northof Engalnd open championships in Bradford when Azeem Alyas won the Under-13 fighting, his cousin Zeeshan Faraz was second in the same section after they fought each other in an exciting final.
They were joined by Kasim Ali to take third place in the Under-13s team event.
