Former Burnley hitman Andy Cooke could be on his way to City.
The 29-year-old is currently looking for a club in England after 18 months in South Korea, and the Bantams are believed to be interested in offering him the opportunity.
But they would have to wait. Because Cooke has been playing abroad, no move could take place until the transfer window opens on January 1.
Cooke made over 200 appearances at Turf Moor and a further 102 for Stoke, scoring against City at the Britannia Stadium two years ago. The powerfully-built centre forward, who joined Pusan Icons in July last year, has been training with Burnley since coming home.
Meanwhile, Colin Todd's search for loan players has received a knockback.
He said: "I asked about a midfielder from a Premier League club who has had a few games in the first team. But they won't let anyone go at this time."
But Todd has rubbished rumours that he was interested in Reading's out-of-favour striker Shaun Goater.
