A female motorist was threatened at knifepoint during a terrifying car-jacking in Bradford.

The 41-year-old victim was driving her black Audi A4 convertible along Raymond Street, towards Mayo Avenue, in Marshfields, when two men forced her to stop.

One of them got into the passenger seat and threatened the woman with a knife.

She managed to struggle free from the car and the suspect clambered into the driver's seat and drove off.

The car turned left into Mayo Avenue and right into Rooley Lane before disappearing out of sight. It has not been recovered. The second suspect fled on foot.

The woman was shocked but uninjured.

Detective Sergeant Gerry Corrigan, heading the robbery team investigating, said: "The woman is obviously very distressed by what happened as anybody would be when threatened with a knife.

"She is in shock but luckily she was quite a strong woman and we have been very impressed with how she has held herself together emotionally,

"Thankfully this kind of crime doesn't happen on a regular basis and it is something that we treat extremely seriously.

"The car - an Audi soft-top - hasn't been recovered so we are looking at the motive of a possible re-sale.

"We have a team of officers working very hard on this investigation."

The first suspect was an Asian man, aged about 24 or 25, with short black hair. He weighed 16 or 17 stones, was 5ft 10ins to 5ft 11ins tall, was of large build and had a big head, fat face and a small mouth. He wore a dark top and jeans.

His accomplice was also Asian, aged about 20, 5ft 6ins tall, and slim, with short black hair. He wore a white windcheater jacket and dark trousers.
