Avenue manager Carl Shutt is still waiting for international clearance for newly-signed Maltese international Jonathon Holland and is left with few options for tomorrow's home match against Hucknall Town.

Shutt had hoped the free midweek would have meant Holland was available for the next game following last Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Stafford Rangers.

"We will be looking at picking a side from the same squad we had for the Stafford game, said Shutt. "There are no fresh injuries."

Skipper Dean Jones will again be missing from the heart of the defence.

The captain limped off in the last home game, a 1-1 draw against Worksop Town, with a bad groin injury. That kept him on the sidelines at Stafford but Michael Naylor returned to put in a solid display.

"Mike Naylor did all right. I was very pleased for the lad," said Shutt. "But it is not good having your leader on the pitch missing. Fortunately Steve Oleksewycz and Ryan Crossley recovered more quickly."

The blank midweek has allowed Shutt to spend more time on the training pitch with his players and has also allowed any niggly injuries to heal.

"It will be nice to have an almost full squad to choose from, but it would have been better to have Deano and the new lad available. We have not had competition for places all season for one reason or another.

"Hucknall will be tough opponents but there are no easy games in this division as all the managers keep saying. I just think it's about time we started to get that bit of luck that teams need, even the best ones.

"We were beaten by the narrowest of margins at Stafford when we looked like the only team who would win it. It ended our little run of four games unbeaten but there were some positives.

"I was very pleased with the efforts of the players and the supporters were happy at how we had played if not the result. We have to maintain that mental attitude and keep the strength of resolve."
