Cleckheaton may have lost eight of their last nine league matches and occupy one of the three relegation places in National League Three North but they aren't a club in crisis, according to Sports Club director Alan Bentley.

He said: "If we were in crisis we wouldn't be able to run four teams or find people to do the important things in a rugby club."

Having won their opening two league matches, Cleckheaton have had a tough time. They have been creating chances but not taking them.

Last Saturday at Tynedale, however, Cleckheaton, boosted by their new back-row pairing of Craig Rika and John Dudley, returned to something like their early-season form, and only lost 18-17.

"For the first time in months we dictated to the opposition," said Bentley, "but we could have scored a try and then conceded one when we had a man sin-binned.

"Sides are mentally tougher and you must play for 80 minutes otherwise you will lose. What we must not do is say the season starts again after tomorrow.

"We are looking forward to the match. It will be pleasant off the field as the clubs have the same outlook, but it will not be pleasant on it. It will be competitive."

Rika moves into the second row tomorrow to partner Richard Wilson, who played his first game for the club last weekend after returning from Hull.

Visitors Bradford and Bingley, meanwhile, despite a poor start to the campaign, haven't given up on chasing a play-off berth by finishing second. Coach Geoff Wappett said: "It's like half-term after tomorrow and we still have Halifax at home and Macclesfield and Fylde away."

The Bees lost Bloues Volschenk (bronchitis) and Richard Hughes (tonsillitis) last Saturday morning prior to facing second-placed Macclesfield, and were without full back Joe Simpson (calf) too. But, despite having to shuffle their cards, the Bees defeated the Cheshire side 19-14.

"We had flanker Kern Yates jumping at No 2 in the line and Alan Bateson in the second row, but we showed some of our best variations of the season," said a delighted Wappett.

Volschenk returns to the second row and Simpson is on the wing. Joe Nau is a possibility for the bench. The match kicks-off at 3pm as Cleckheaton have floodlights. Having lost to the bottom two, Keighley ring the changes for their Yorkshire Division One clash at home to Bridlington. Kevin Young returns at centre, Chris Watts is re-instated on the wing, Scott Amos is at scrum half after a lengthy lay-off and Morgan Bailey is at flanker.
