Senior Aircraftman Joe Beaumont is heading home for Christmas after completing a tour of duty in Iraq.

Joe, a former Greenhead Grammar School pupil, said: "My family have been in my thoughts all the time I've been away.

"I'm missing my wife, Natalie, loads and can't wait to see her again. I am looking forward to arriving home for Christmas and meeting up with all of my friends and family back in Keighley."

Joe, normally based at RAF Brize Norton, is currently detached to the Airport of Disembarkation, in Iraq.

He joined the RAF five years ago as an air movements controller and he is currently responsible for the loading and unloading of both military and civilian aircraft that come into Basrah airport -- the aircraft involved in transporting freight and passengers.

Joe, an all round sportsman, has represented his squadron at golf and football and completed a 10k charity run for Children in Need while out in Basrah.

He is a keen supporter of Bradford City and the Keighley Cougars, and relaxes by walking his labrador, Cassie.
