The Pipers warm up for their rearranged Paul Weller support slot with a gig tomorrow at the Snooty Fox in Oakworth.

The trio will be playing new material specially written for the Weller concert, and there will be DJs playing before and after the performance.

Pipers musician James Atkinson expected the new songs to go down well with fans because they showcased the band's improving songwriting.

He added: "The new tunes we're doing are very energetic. We think they'll stand out in the set -- it's already up-tempo."

n Operatorsix came in for praise from Keighley News reviewer Julia Silson when they supported Simon Fowler at his recent concert in Keighley.

After she heard them play a "great set" at the New Variety Club she said the Keighley rock band were well worth checking out at their next gig.

Julia added: "The band is comprised of Bingley brothers Adam Boyce on vocals and acoustic guitar and Alex on guitar and backing vocals, and Keighley lads Darren Akeroyd on bass and an enthusiastic Ian Atkinson on drums and percussion.

"Adam's distinctive vocals were well complemented with memorable tunes, including tracks from the band's four track EP Quadnique."

Catch Operatorsix's heavy and indie rock sound at the New Variety Club, Russell Street, on December 30.
