Castleford 14 Keighley 12 - Keighley Albion Cats left the pitch disappointed after they ran out of steam at Castleford.

They started well and good ground was made by the Keighley forwards. Good passing interchanges and sustained pressure from Keighley saw Kirstie Horsfall step inside to score from Tracey Lynch's pass.

Castleford replied with an unconverted try and Keighley's top tacklers Saima Hussain and Laura Ackroyd put in strong performances. Angela Pickard never tired and pushed Keighley into a great position allowing Nat Towning to break Castleford's line with ease and race 40 yards. Quick back up play saw Emma Proctor dive over the line for a great try. The kick was agin wide of the mark.

Castleford re-grouped and drove over the Keighley line toleave them level 8-8 at the break.

Twenty minutes stalemate followed as both teams took attack and defence to the limit. The spell was broken when Laura Ackroyd found space to flick a pass to Sarah Cartwright who dived through the defesive line to score. Keighley then spent the rest of the game camped in their own half and the pace of the game caught Keighley out as Castleford scored under the sticks.

Time ran out for Keighley as the final whistle followed the conversion.

Keighley are at home to Warrington on Sunday in the Challenge Cup, kick off 1.30.
