Barrowford Celtic 3 , Silsden Reserves 2 - After last week's performance, Silsden expected a comfortable day out at Barrowford.

The last time the two sides met, Silsden ran out 7-2 winners and they looked set to repeat that performance when Adam Edwards found himself right in front of goal after just three minutes. The ball bounced temptingly for him to tap in past the stranded Barrowford keeper.

Barrowford then started to muscle their way back into the game and their pace on the right, coupled with a lively and strong midfield, started to cause Silsden problems. The off-side trap was sprung and the sides went in level at half time.

The second half saw Silsden begin to show signs of last week's performance and they were rewarded when Bland, who had replaced Edwards up front, flicked on a header across goal for the unmarked Price to hit home.

Barrowford continued to niggle and muscle their way through the game, and time after time, players were drawn into personal battles instead of concentrating on winning the game. Their pace and determination was causing problems and the Lancashire side equalised when a half chance on the edge of the area was drilled home off Phil Rishton's post.

There was only going to be one winner after their equaliser and it came with three minutes to go. Again, Rishton's post was involved as the ball hit the inside on its way into the net.

Silsden can have no complaints about the result. "We didn't take our chances and were punished for it," said manager Harry Peacock. "We had five or six opportunities whereas Barrowford had three half chances and took them all."

n Silsden's Sunday League side secured a 4-2 victory over Towngate in theWest Riding FA Sunday Cup.
