Children from Bradford Council's care homes are set to enjoy an 'incredible' trip in the New Year.

Bradford cinema Cineworld in the Leisure Exchange has donated popcorn and drinks for at least 30 children to enjoy whilst watching a special free viewing of box-office hit The Incredibles.

The donation comes at the end of the Telegraph & Argus toy appeal, which aims to collect a toy for every child living in or using Bradford care facilities at Christmas time.

There will be a mix of youngsters from the seven residential care homes and disabled children from the three respite care centres attending the visit on January 2. Generous donations to the T&A appeal means each child in care will be unwrapping an extra gift on Christmas morning. And the cinema trip will be the icing on the Christmas cake, providing children with memories to last them until next New Year. A spokesman for Cineworld said: "We are happy to be supporting the appeal with a showing of The Incredibles and we wish the children a happy Christmas."

Cineworld's gift has come at the end of the final week of the T&A appeal which has received generous offers from companies and readers.

With the deadline for giving a gift to the appeal on Monday, the T&A is encouraging generous readers to help with a last-minute boost for the gift pile.

Those wishing to give a gift and make a difference to a youngster this Christmas must deliver gifts before the end of the appeal on December 20.

Each present must be brand new and the T&A ask that gifts are unwrapped in order to help staff sort the presents before wrapping them up to put under the tree.

Donors are asked to avoid giving toy weapons or second-hand items.

Presents for babies should also be avoided as there are no children under the age of five living in the homes.
