A new young people's award is in memory of a Dales campaigner.
The Ken Willson Award has been set up by the Yorkshire Dales Society and the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England.
Mr Willson, pictured, former president of the Yorkshire Dales Society, who died in 2003 at 89, always campaigned for the countryside and was a great role model for young people, said the society's Colin Speakman.
The award, for £500, will go to someone under 30 who demonstrates an understanding and enjoyment of the landscape, natural history and cultural and social heritage and the economy of the communities.
Nomination forms can be obtained from the Yorkshire Dales Society, Civic Centre, Cross Green, Otley, West Yorkshire, LS21 1HD, or telephone (01943) 461938.
