TORRENTIAL rain and high winds caused almost all games across the district to be postponed last weekend.

One of the few games to go ahead saw AC Victoria beat Buttershaw White Star 5-1 in the fourth round of the West Riding FA Sunday Trophy.

Victoria's scorers were Tony Cooper (2), Liam Holdsworth, Tom Woodward and Jimmy Hanson (pictured above. right).

Silsden saw their game against North West Counties Division Two leaders, Cammel Laird called off because the Cougar Park pitch was waterlogged.

It left them facing the prospect of a hectic period as the season reaches its climax later in the spring after their match against Nelson had also been postponed over the Christmas period.

Both opponents are in the race for promotion to the league's top flight and Silsden coach, Andy Geary, had hoped to have six points in the bag after the games over the festive period. However, with two games called off, and defeat at Padiham, they are looking to kick-start 2005 this weekend.

On Saturday they play Chadderton, who are third from bottom of the table, at Cougar Park.

In the County Amateur League's Premier Division Steeton are at home to Campion with Keighley Shamrocks away to Westwood in Division One. Keighley Lifts entertain Dudley Hill Athletic in Division Two.

The reserve divisions see Keighley shamrocks away to Brighouse Town and Keighley Lifts are at Storthes Hall.

Silsden Reserves travel to Ovenden Reserves in the fourth round of the West Riding FA Challenge Trophy.

Keighley FA Cup competitions also take place this weekend. Supplementary Cup (R2): Cross Hills Res v Sand Lane Res, Cowling Res v Keighley Lifts Res, Oxenhope Rec Res v Silsden AFC Res.

Sunday Cup (R3): Variety Club v Albert; Victoria v Three Horses, Oakworth Jnrs v BCA, Crossflatts v Silsden Sunday.

Liam Daley Trophy (R2): Eldwick Jnrs v Shamrocks U-12s A, Sandy Lane Jnrs v . Shamrocks Under-12s B, Cross Hills jnrs v Bingley Jnrs B, Bingley Jnrs A v Oakworth Jnrs A.

n Keighley Minors are in action at Cougar Park on Wednesday when they take on Harrogate and victory will secure a place in the semi-final of the West Riding Minor Cup if they secure victory. The match kicks off at 7.30pm.

The Keighley & District FA Semi-Final Draw will take place at half time.
