A pregnant mother of three and her disabled husband, from Ravenscliffe, say they are being terrorised by thugs who repeatedly pelt their home with bricks, eggs and paint.

The couple say there have been dozens of separate attacks on their semi over the past nine weeks. But they have no idea who is targeting them or why.

Police are now investigating the string of incidents, which Pamela and Douglas Renton say began on Mischief Night, November 4.

Mrs Renton, of Thackeray Road, said on one occasion she was hit by an egg hurled through an open window as she was holding her eight-month-old baby daughter Donna Marie.

"It started in November and it's been going on ever since," said Mrs Renton, who moved into the rented house last February. "As soon as it's happened we've been on to the police and they've been round. I haven't got a clue why they are doing it.

"They just throw eggs and then run off. Sometimes it's paint on the front door and sometimes it's bricks. On Mischief Night we had the window open and the egg came through the window and hit me on the shoulder and I was carrying the baby at the time."

Mrs Renton said she had no idea why they had become victims of the attacks.

Mr Renton, 63, who suffers from angina, said he had written to Bradford Council and his local MP.

"We can't go on like this," he said. "It's happening nearly every day. It quietens down for a day or two and then it starts up again. We're both complete nervous wrecks.

"We've seen the people who do it. It's adults and kids but we don't know who they are."

Mrs Renton, 31, who is expecting a baby in the summer, has three children, Donna Marie, Kelly Marie, 22 months, and seven-year-old Douglas.

Last April she suffered tragedy when Donna Marie's twin brother Dougie died just three days after he had been born.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire police confirmed that the attacks on the Rentons' home were being investigated. He said the couple had also been given crime prevention advice.
